Norway: agreement on F-35 aircraft

The production of components for military planes entrusted to a European company

The US defense and security group Lockheed Martin signed an agreement today with the Norwegian military equipment manufacturer Kongsberg Gruppen. The contract concerns the supply of components for the Joint Strike Fighter Program (JSFC), which supports the construction of F-35 Lightning II aircraft. The deal is worth 112 million dollars.

The agreement provides for the entrusting of Lockheed Martin production lots numbers 18-19 to Kongsberg Gruppen: that is the creation of rudders, vertical leading edges, main landing gear closeout panels. These are components that will be used to build the three versions of the F-35 aircraft, for a total of over 300 aircraft. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2025 and continue until 2027.
