Italian strike today: the situation in the airports

Up to 20% of flights cancelled at the two Milanese airports

The 24-hour general strike at national level in the public and private sectors starts today, Friday 20 October. The air transport sector is also involved. Possible interruptions to local public transport, maritime, railway and motorway services. The best protection zones for travelers are guaranteed

Workers in the airline sector crossed their arms starting from 00:01 today and until 24:00 this night. Delayed and canceled flights are expected, as well as slowdowns in the usual assistance procedures for passengers and aircraft. The Italian Civil Aviation Authority (Enac) reminds you that flights are guaranteed from 7:00 to 10:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00 today.

The mobilization is called by the unions Unione Sindacale Italiana (Usi), Confederazione Unitaria di Base (CUB), Sindacato Generale Sindacale di Base (Sgb) and Cobas. The national carrier ITA Airways has announced that around 20 flights will be cancelled throughout Italy. Meanwhile, the acronyms have announced that 46 (out of 231 scheduled flights) flights have already been cancelled until this morning at the Milanese airports of Linate and Malpensa.
