Brazil announces construction of 120 airports

Initiative supported by an investment plan of over 1.1 billion euros

The Government of Brazil has announced that it plans to build 120 new airports by 2026. This is an initiative supported by a private investment plan amounting to over 1.1 billion euros. The aim is to encourage, between private initiative and public funding, the construction of 120 airports in the next three or four years throughout the Latin American country.

"In the Amazon, in particular, our expectation is to be able to build more than ten new airports". The Government's expectation is to present an organic program by February "to be able to start discussions on the largest volume of investments in the history of the country for the airport sector, which are fundamental not only for the tourism sector but also for business", declared the minister of ports and airports, Silvio Costa Filho.
