Athens Airport sparks on the stock market

On the first day of stock trading +13%

Stock market debut with sparks for the "Eleftherios Venizelos" international airport in Athens. On the first day of financial trading, the value of the airport management company's stock recorded a +13%, rising to 9.26 Euros per share. The Greek government had privatized 30% of the capital of the airport operator, raising 784.7 million euros. 

Athens Airport connects Greece with 155 cities around the world. In 2023 it handled more than 28 million passengers (+24% compared to 2022). The airport represents a very important gateway for a country whose economy is based on tourism, considering that up to November 2023 it welcomed a total of around 32 million foreign visitors.
