Russia: airport operations fully restored
Activities suspended on Saturday due to a Ukrainian drone attack

Operations at Russian airports, which suspended operations on August 23 due to airspace security concerns related to Ukrainian attacks, have fully resumed. According to the ministry of Defense, 32 drones were intercepted and destroyed in about three hours, heading for various parts of the country, particularly the Leningrad region, as reported by governor Alexander Drozdenko. According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, Russian defense systems also downed a drone heading toward the capital on Saturday.
As reported by "Rosaviatsia", the Russian Federation's Federal Air Transport Authority, the airports affected by the blockade were Izhevsk, Nizhniy Nolvgorod, Samara, Penza, Tambov, and Ulyanovsk, located east and southeast of the capital. Furthermore, according to Russian press, officials at St. Petersburg-Pulkovo airport reported the delay of over 50 flights and the diversion of more than 30 planes to alternative airports. For example, a plane operated by the Egyptian carrier AlMasria Universal Airlines carrying Russian tourists, en route from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg, made an emergency landing in Tallinn, Estonia.
