Italian Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport (Mit) Edoardo Rixi leads the Italian delegation to the 42nd Icao (International Civil Aviation Organization) Assembly taking place in Montreal (23 September-3 October), the most important global event for civil aviation.

For the first time in years Italy will be represented at the political level, a sign of the intent to strengthen its role in the sector’s strategic decisions. The delegation includes MIT, ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority), ENAV (Italian Flight Assistance Company) and the Air Force General Staff.

At the center of the proceedings are the major issues shaping the future of air transport: safety, technological innovation, environmental sustainability and international cooperation. The safe and sustainable development of global air traffic remains a priority for the Italian Government.
