Secondo alcune indiscrezioni l'Aeronautica Militare Italiana (AMI) acquisterà velivoli Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter per sostituire i Siai Marchetti 208AM come aerei da addestramento multiruolo. Si tratterebbe di 12 aerei PC-6 che verrebbero comprati dall'aeronautica svizzera, mentre i 208AM dovrebbero essere venduti agli aero club o a privati.
