Beijing, more than 10 million passengers at Daxing airport
Chinese airport has been operating for just one year

A respectable flow of passengers. Beijing-Daxing International Airport has been around for exactly one year, but it can already boast impressive numbers. As reported today, on Tuesday 22 September 2020, by Chinese media, this airport exceeded 10 million passengers after the return to post-quarantine operations. In practice, it is as if the entire population of the cities of Lima, Jakarta or Kinshasa had passed through this infrastructure in a very short time. Beijing Daxing International Airport was officially inaugurated on September 25, 2019 and manages 187 domestic air connections.
Latest figures speak of 84 thousand aircraft taken off and landed and 39 thousand tons of cargo and mail; the numbers listed above refer to yesterday, Monday 21 September 2020. The increase in flights has been constant and progressive, with an increasing number of air carriers that have relied on Daxing. An emblematic case was that of China Southern Airlines which transferred most of its connections (80% specifically) to this airport; the future scenarios of the Asian airline are encouraging, with over 200 aircraft operated in the Chinese capital and nearly 30 million passengers by 2025.
