Ukrainian war: Denmark trains Kiev pilots

Training program for F-16 fighter commands begins

The Danish Air Force has announced that training courses for Ukrainian pilots to command Lockheed Martin F-16 "Fighting Falcon" military aircraft have begun. Among other things, the Northern European government is among those that, together with the Netherlands, will deliver over 40 of these aircraft to Kiev.

Ukrainian pilots "are now already flying with instructors. Every day the number of servicemen trained and performing the tasks set by the instructor may increase. The next stage of training involves the transition to independent flights. And then, accordingly, the use of the aircraft in war, to learn how to fight with this aircraft", explained Yurii Ihnat, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force.

The training courses take place at the Danish air base in Skridstrup. At the moment, Ukrainian pilots, ground workers, maintainers, officers and aeronautical engineers from Kiev receive training in Denmark, the USA, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Romania.
