FORT WORTH, TEXAS, L'American Airlines ha ordinato 8 nuovi aerei Boeing: due 757-200 pronti per la prima metà del 2002, quattro 737-800 per la fine del 2002 e due 777-200ER per il 2003. Questi velivoli, seconto quanto detto dal presidente della compagnia Don Carty, serviranno per coprire nuove rotte.
