Death of Kobe Bryant: difficult recovery of bodies
No black box on board
The news of the death of basketball champion Kobe Bryant and his daughter is enriched with details (see AVIONEWS). The photos circulating on social networks the day after the Sikorsky S-76 helicopter, N72EX registration, crashed, show the wreckage on fire. From recent information the pilot allegedly communicated to the air traffic controllers that he was trying to avoid a layer of thick fog and would have requested radar assistance, but it would seem that the aircraft was not traceable. Poor visibility may have completely disoriented the commander. It would seem that there was no black box on board, instead found an i-Pad that was used for the flight path. The rotary wing machine crashed at 300 km/h on a hill at a height of 420 meters. The conditions of that terrain are making the recovery of the bodies very difficult.
Baseball coach John Altobelli, his wife Keri and his 13-year-old daughter Alissya were among the victims. Christina Mauser, women's volleyball coach and her husband also died.
