Minister Naidu: Investigation agencies and emergency response mobilised

"The tragedy in Ahmedabad has shocked and saddened us. It is heartbreaking beyond words. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with all those affected. I am in touch with the ministers and authorities who are working to assist those affected", Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on "X" regarding the Boeing B-787/8 plane that crashed today in India.

Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, also on social media, added: "Rescue operations are currently underway. We have held an emergency meeting. Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are on their way to Ahmedabad. I am also on my way to the crash site. It will take some time before we can confirm the exact number of casualties".
